Young film scholar/director/screenwriter
He graduated from the Department of Literature at the Beijing Film Academy with a major in drama and film writing, and then went to the New York Film Academy in the United States to pursue a master’s degree in film production, and received a doctorate from the BIFF Film School at Dongseo University in South Korea. His academic background spans China, the United States, and South Korea, and he has both a solid theoretical foundation and an international creative vision.
The theatrical film “Good Morning to Me” directed by him won many international nominations and awards, including the Hong Kong Bauhinia International Film Festival and the Russian Northern Character International Film Festival. His co-written work “Beautiful Childhood” won the first prize of the Chinese Children’s Film Script and published a book of the same name. He is a mentor for the National Art Fund project and a speaker at industry seminars, focusing on topics such as “Artificial Intelligence Image Narrative” and “Short Video Creativity”, and the script coordinator of the theatrical film “Dream of Red Mansions”. With rich industry experience, cross-team collaboration capabilities and innovative thinking, he continues to explore the diverse possibilities of combining film and television art with technology.

This elite class will focus on “the complete process of a director incubating his first feature film from his MFA graduation work, focusing on the perspective of graduates, and deeply analyzing the practical challenges and solutions faced in the promotion of the project.” It aims to provide practical experience references and path inspiration for students and young filmmakers who are interested in feature film creation.

The Beijing Film Academy’s Experimental Class for Top Graduate Students is a special training program for graduate students of all majors in the school, planned by Professor Sun Lijun and launched by the Graduate School in 2019 under the guidance and support of the Party Committee of our school. The head teacher of the 2019 Experimental Class for Top Graduate Students is Ms. Huang Dan, and the teaching and research team includes Ms. Zhang Min, Liu Debin, and Yang Rui; the head teacher of the 2021 Experimental Class for Top Graduate Students is Ms. Li Wei; the head teacher of the 2022 Experimental Class for Top Graduate Students is Mr. Sun Lijun; the head teachers of the 2023 Experimental Class for Top Graduate Students are Ms. Fang Gangliang and Ms. Yang Rui; the head teacher of the 2024 Experimental Class for Top Graduate Students is Ms. Yu Xiaofeng, and the teaching and research team includes Ms. Mei Feng, Mao Xiaorui, and Ms. Liu Jiayin.
The Beijing Film Academy’s graduate top talent experimental class adopts a voluntary registration and selection model, attaches importance to the integration of disciplines and professional directions, integrates precise teaching by teachers from inside and outside the school and international teachers, optimizes the curriculum, breaks down the barriers between disciplines and majors, stimulates students’ creative vitality and innovation ability, takes solid shooting practice as the teaching orientation, and takes high-quality artistic achievements as the goal. Through continuous selection for three years, a group of creative talents with international competitiveness have been cultivated. Since the launch of the project, five grades of graduate top talent experimental classes have been established, with fruitful results.
